Em Brumer

Instructor/Assistant
Specialization: Fabric, Lyra, Stilting, and Acrobatics

Em (they/she/he) first found aerial dance at age 11 while living in Portland, Oregon, and after two years at a studio only working with fabric, they moved cross country and found SHOW. While she has participated in activities such as track and field, volleyball, mountain biking, and taekwondo, circus is the one that stuck. During the pandemic he started taking private lessons and got to try different apparatuses and pacro for the first time, and then continued expanding their circus abilities by joining Youth Troupe in 2021. Through Troupe she was able to learn and perform
aerial cube, ground cube, tippy lyra, and more, and though she’s no longer in Troupe, they’re still working on expanding their circus knowledge by taking new classes. Outside of SHOW, Em is a college student currently attending Holyoke Community College and is hoping to transfer next year. They are working towards a degree in education, but have not yet chosen between elementary education or secondary education with a focus in STEM. Em has always been passionate about teaching children and loves that SHOW let’s him combine this with circus.
